Founded by Shirley and Don Allen in 1987, Props Unlimited has grown from its department store window design roots into the Midwest’s premier special event decor company. Businesses, nonprofits, schools and families from throughout Illinois and Wisconsin turn to Props Unlimited’s vast library of large-scale props and murals to turn their events into unforgettable experiences.
In October 2013, Shirley and Don’s granddaughter, Rachel Allen Larrivee, and her husband, Scott Larrivee, purchased the business and began writing the next chapter in the colorful history of Props Unlimited.

Rachel Allen Larrivee, owner & president
Rachel brings her extensive event planning skills gained in public and nonprofit organizations to bear for clients of all sizes and budgets. In state government, she routinely planned and managed multiple events each week, ranging from small ribbon cuttings to large receptions and banquets with corporate, state and federal officials. Later, in a distinguished events role at a national nonprofit, Rachel led an annual Milwaukee woman’s luncheon and played a key staff role in a gala event in Madison, Wis. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Milwaukee and serves on the steering committee for the Wisconsin Innovation Awards.
Scott Larrivee, owner
Scott is a marketing and communications professional whose experience includes serving as the spokesperson for a large state government agency, developing marketing and communications strategies for clients at an independent public relations consulting firm, and working as public relations director for a Fortune 50 company and its corporate foundation.
